Humans On-Line [www.chip.de]

Microsoft patented a method and apparatus for transmitting power and data using the human body. Although finding the idea of this patent very interesting in technical respects, I do not know, if Microsoft interpreted "being on-line" in a too literal way. And knowing many people, who are concerned about electromagnetic pollution, I wonder, if many people will accept suchlike technology.

A few days ago, one of my friends pointed me to an interesting article illustrating current status of "bit4health", an electronic health chip card.
On a congress, the Association for Medical Informatics, Biometry and Epidemiology (gmds) listed several unresolved problems regarding architecture for implementation of electronic health chip card, which should be introduced January, 1st 2006.
Similar to project "Toll-Collect", a consortium of big business companies presented a well thought-out document, composed of 1500 pages, but unfortunately real implementation is still far away. There are too many open questions concerning technological and legal basis. In addition to this, how long does it take after investing huge amount of money in development and implementation, till savings arise?

Having other political disasters in mind, there is one question, which should be answered at first:

"Is this technology practical in everyday life at all?"
